This Week from the Soap Blog Coalition!!!

As the World Turns' Terri Colombino and One Life to Live's Bree Williamson and David Gregory popped up at the 25th Annual Starlight Children's Foundation Gala on March 4 at the Marriott Marquis to help shed light on a worthy cause. Check out photos from the event. (Daytime Confidential)

In the spirit of ABC's "Rediscover" campaign, we've put together our own... Rediscover Hillary! With the reveal this week that Damon is actually the son of Hillary Wilson, one of Tad's former loves, this is the time to get to know her. Also the PVB is appealing to fans to get Carmen Thomas-Paris back in the role she created. (Pine Valley Bulletin)

The only thing in the world more pleasing to the ear than Olivia's righteously angry smackdown of Sonny would be the sentence "Breaking News: Bob Guza Fired!" But since we'll probably never get the hear the latter, the Serial Drama girls will just play (and re-play) the former when they need a pick-me-up. (Serial Drama)

If The Bold and the Beautiful's Steffy does just one thing right, she will convince the new owners to change the FC name from 'Forrester Creations' to 'Freakish Creations" or something because in my mind, that is the only way the buying public will ever be able to relate to these wretched retailers. FLASHBACK 1986: Who gave HER a licence?

The beautifully tacky Edna Fergueson (Sandy Gabriel) almost "unintentionally" put an end to Tad and Hillary's courtship when she ran Hillary over on her wedding day. I would like to think it was an accident, but Hillary did put an end to Edna's daughter Dottie's (Tasia Valenza) marriage to Tad. Why can't we just let bygones be bygones?

Check out a clip from that memorable 1986 day below:

Behind Every Strong Woman...

...there is a strong family.

Carmen Thomas-Paris (ex-Hillary) is married to renowned artist Paulin Paris. Check out a recent article on Paulin at The Los Angeles Times website. The paper took photos inside Carmen's beautiful home in Venice Beach, California.

As a bonus, check out the beautiful New Years card photo of Carmen and her family (husband Paulin, daughter Sabin, and son Georges) taken in 2009.

Rediscover Hillary Wilson: Carmen Thomas-Paris

Could it be true? Pine Valley newbie and all around bad-boy Damon Miller (Finn Wittrock) is allegedly the son of Tad Martin's first true love (well kind of, long story), Hillary Wilson.

Pine Valley sweetheart Hillary was played by our good friend and timeless beauty (I mean look at the picture above, she has not aged a day!), Carmen Thomas-Paris, from 1984-1988. With all the rumblings of Tad's past with Hillary we reached out to Thomas-Paris for her opinion on what's going on. Check it out:

“It’s been very exciting to get so many calls and e-mails asking if I am returning to the show! I wish that I knew more about this intriguing prospect and how perfect that the show is now right here in my own back yard!! I have been in touch with some of the actors on the show who were my friends when I was on the show who are all very jazzed at the idea of me returning to the cast to revive my role.

Especially Michael Knight (Tad Martin) who has been wanting this to happen for years.

Since the current producer of the show is not familiar with Hillary, Michael has told me he is pitching me to come back as Hillary and stir up some trouble for Tad!

Also, he and I both feel that Hillary and Tad never got enough of a chance together since most of our time was spent “unrequited” and once we finally got married Michael left the show so this could be our chance to finally have some juicy stuff.

I know from hearing through the grapevine that Lorraine Broderick who is the Headwriter, wants to bring back Hillary but two new Headwriters will take over at the end of the month so who knows what their ideas might be.

Lorraine Broderick is part of the regime, who with Agnes Nixon, created the role of Hillary.

This could be a really great opportunity to get back some previous fans of the shows and merge with the new viewers!

I watched the show last week when I heard all this late breaking news to see what was happening in Pine Valley and it warmed my heart to see some familiar faces which were like family to me!

I was a mere teenager when I showed up in Pine Valley...Julia Barr (Brooke English) was like a real Auntie to me so it would be such an adventure to be back with all these dear people that I love!”
Stick around The Pine Valley Bulletin for the next two weeks of features revolving around Hillary and her one and only portrayer Carmen Thomas-Paris as we Rediscover Hillary Wilson together!

What drove Hillary and Tad apart? Why does Damon remind us of Hillary's last lover and almost husband, Mitch Beck (yes, that's Donna Tyler's little brother)?

We will also have a full feature interview with Carmen Thomas-Paris and update all you fans on what she has been up to, her days at All My Children, and the lessons learned for the southern ingenue as she grew up in the big city. Phoebe Wallingford
would be proud!

You Can't Mess With the Original: Erica Kane

'nuff said.

The Recast That Didn't Work

Well one of them anyway. Popular Kate Collins (left) left the show as Natalie Dillon in 1992 and was recast with Melody Anderson (right). During Melody's time on AMC, Natalie was struck blind during an arson fire set by a vengeful Carter Jones. But when Christmas rolled around, the Dillon tradition of making a wish on the Angel at the top of the tree brought about Natalie's vision. It soon became very clear that the recast wasn't going to be working out in the long run. Natalie's fate was set when, after learning her accountant Laurel Banning, was embezzling money from her organization the Mason Foundation. She went to Adam for help and on their way to confront Laurel, they were in a car accident. Natalie's injuries were too severe so Trevor made the difficult decision to have her taken off life support. Melody Anderson last aired as Natalie in 1993. Kate Collins did return, beginning in 1997 and continuing on through the years as first Natalie's ghost and then Natalie's sister, Janet Green. Kate played the dual role of Natalie and Janet for awhile during her run, then Janet was recast with Robin Mattson (IMO, one of the recasts that worked very well!). For more information on the history of Natalie or any other AMC character, check out the PVB Quick Guide.
