A New Day is Dawning AMC Fans... REJOICE!!!!

The news is just hitting the airwaves but it's good. Oh is it good!!!! After a year and a half of dismal failure, TPTB at AMC have stepped up and done the best thing they could do to save this show. They have fired Head Writer Charles Pratt Jr. Oh I'm just giddy with excitement!!!!! Ding Dong Pratt is gone!!!!

  1. When will ABC learn. He screwed up GH and AMC. Please do not hire him again.

  2. I have loved this show since about 1977, and the writing this last year or so has been bizarre. So many things out of character for the characters we have known longer than that writer - obviously. I hope they get somebody terrific to fill his shoes.

  4. I honestly have this feeling if they rehire McTavish, there will be people sorry for this happening.

But whatever. The series is most likely on its final legs.

  6. WOOT....I'm dancing in the streets on this one. It's about time. Now maybe we can get our show back to the original values and core characters and back to what we are all use to :)

  8. I'm waiting for more info to be released about this. Hopefully Monday I'll hear more.

As bad as McTavish was, and truthfully, her being rehired yet again would probably rain on my parade her, I do think she is the lesser of the two evils.

Whoever they hire, I hope people will give them a chance because there is a HUGE mess to clean up and it can't be done overnight. Hmmm, seems I've said those very words after our last Presidential election LOL

  10. Everyone deserves a chance Cathie. All we had to go on when Pratt was hired was his previous work. Some good some bad. I would guess that most can say that. If things don't improve after a few months, I honestly don't think it's enough time to undo all the damage.

To me, I don't need brilliance, innovation, or gimmicks. I need good story for characters that fans care about, a high level of consistency and a good dose of history. Geez PTB, is that too much to ask!?

  13. Cathie, if you see this, I'm not sure what I said to upset you and make you delete your posts. I don't have any idea what you mean by you not saying anything right that gives you a chance? You totally lost me with that. I was talking about writers. When they start, they deserve the chance to show us what they can do. That's all I said, that's I meant. I wasn't condemning you or anyone else but Pratt.
