Learning the Game of Life

In 1985, All My Children released a Game Board that gave their fans the chance to live out the lives of some of their favourite Pine Valley Citizens. Though the game proved to be incredibly popular, it was not the easiest to figure out.

As Carmen Thomas-Paris recounts, "We tried to play it, but no one could ever figure it out. I remember a few times we tried to play it on the set. The directions are a little complicated. By the time you are finished reading the directions, you didn't want to play anymore."

Let's check out some of the cast featured, then and now:Debbi Morgan (Dr. Angie Baxter Hubbard):
Darnell Williams (Jesse Hubbard):
Michael E. Knight (Tad Gardner Martin):
Carmen Thomas-Paris (Hillary Wilson):

I think that we can agree that time seems to stand still in Soap Land.

  1. You're "now" picture of Tad looks about 10 years old. ;)

  2. LOL Sonja, it probably is. I don't think my partner (who made this post) has the current pic that I do. I'll have to send it on to him to update :)

  3. That picture of Tad is from 2004. I wish he would dye his hair again.

Anyway...I had no idea AMC had their own board game until 2005. I was in Spartanburg, SC volunteering with my college for Habitat for Humanity. The 3rd day of our trip, we were at the H4H thrift store helping to sort through donated items. I came upon this exact game and was so excited. The man in charge of the store gave me the game for free, since we had spent our Spring Break trip building a house. I still have it! There's also a murder mystery game that came out around 1991. I found that about a year ago at the Goodwill. I keep them with my other AMC memorabilia. :)

  4. MEK doesn't do photo shoots very often so cut him a little break! LOL

David, I have both the board game and the Murder Mystery game too! I also have the AMC jigsaw puzzle and way more AMC memorabilia than I can name here and now (big shelf full of stuff in my office). My fave item? I have Julia Keefer's necklace. The one she wore in Jamaica that held the drug that would make her and Noah seem dead. I wanted Noah's (*sigh*) but his had already sold so I got Julia's. I always loved her though so I didn't mind so much!
