CASTING NEWS: Allen and Mayfield are out!

Just released today, Brittany Allen (Marissa) and Adam Mayfield (Scott) have been let go from AMC.  Official word is that the show wants to take the characters in a new direction.  Does that mean recast?  Who knows!  Both Allen and Mayfield joined AMC in April of '09 and both will continue to air into October.  Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

  1. I think I'll miss Scott (or maybe just looking at him lol), but I'm SO OVER Marissa! She was this sweet innocent girl when she first came to PV, but now she is mean! Sure, JR wasn't the best husband, but he was trying, and what was it that she said at Davids wake? 'I'll be fine, I have my mother, and my son'. Did she not sleep with Scott? She acts like JR beat her or something. Pack her bags and send her on her way!

  2. I think both characters are boring !!!!!!!!!!! Marissa is the worst yet. Scott should be recast , it worked for Jake

  4. Good! I didn't care for either of their storylines or the actors. Maybe a recast will help.

  5. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Daniel Cosgrove will return to the role of Scott now that ATWT is off the air, and I PRAY TO GOD that Alexa Havins will be brought back as a recast Marissa!

  6. I won't miss either.

Cosgrove is said to be coming to AMC. I'm guessing he will be thrown right into the middle of Ryan/Greenlee/Madison. You can't bring him and ignore the Scott/Greenlee and Ryan angle.

  7. We are excited to see these 2 off our beloved show. They just didnt work in our opinion. Its also very sad to see 2 people lose their jobs. Especially in this economy.

I had the pleasure of meeting AM. Hes a great guy. He just didnt work out as Scott.

Lets wish these 2 luck in finding a new job really soon.

    GOOD LUCK TO YOU BOTH!

Now all AMC has to do is replace the new HW, Julie, and Brian Frons.

  8. So, today we had the "set-up" for Scott to depart by going to the branch in Europe. Guess AMC had to break the news before this episode aired. I would like to see these roles recast but, in the meantime, how are they going to get rid of Marissa?

I read your posts and I thought you wrote "pack her bangs and send her on her way" and I laughed for 5 minutes.

  12. "A New Direction"

This can only mean one thing... Annie & JR stop flirting with disaster and become it.

  13. I am glad that they are replacing Scott. He was a TERRIBLE actor. He always appeared to by "trying to act". Never seemed natural. Marissa was a bit of a cry baby. In any event, I wish them both success in their future endeavors.

  14. How much longer before they announce that Alexa Haven's will return? My guess is she will be the recast for Marissa since Babe has no way to return. If she doesn't return, say goodbye to KWAK.
