RECASTING NEWS: Trent Garrett NOT Leaving

I guess we were all duped!   The Trent Garrett (Asher) poster on Twitter was an imposter.  Nothing like feeding off the misery of the masses.  Sorry guys, I'm one of many bloggers who fell for it.  Trent Garrett has not been let go.  He reached out to our AMC Fan Club president, Debbie Morris and let her know that he does not have a Twitter account and that he is staying with the show until September.

  1. You really believe that? I don't. Not for a second. I am 100% positive that the Trent Garret twitter account was the real thing. I saved the original posts because I thought that they were so beautifully written, and I had a feeling that ABC's PR team was going to be all over them in a heartbeat. I was right. They're just trying to shut him up. Trent Garret said he was leaving earlier than originally planned. I believe him. An imposter would have nothing to gain from claiming to be Trent for months. He's not even that significant of an actor/character on AMC (no offense to him, but it's no secret that he's no major player). Pretending to be Alicia Minshew or David Canary, those I could understand. But that Trent Garret twitter was no imposter. Him coming back and saying that he doesn't have a twitter account was just a cover up. He's just doing what he's told. Poor guy.

  2. Sofia, why would he care now? He's already gone, just a matter of time....

  3. I don't know, perhaps the same reason Brandon Buddy did? I don't know if you follow One Life To Live, but BB posted on his twitter that he was leaving the show, and had to immediately retract the statement, passing the tweet off as a hacker. It turned out to be true though, as he exited the show shortly after. It's probably written somewhere in their contacts that they can't release public statements without being given the go ahead first.

  4. Sofia, you are probably right, but since he denied it, it's pretty much my duty to report what he said. I don't watch or follow OLTL so I didn't know about the carbon copy scenario. That's very interesting!

  5. Kathy, I totally understand that. You're just doing your job. :) Just thought I'd offer my take on the situation. Now, if this was a first time occurrence, then there would be some reasonable doubt, but the fact that it's happened before just makes it all the more suspicious. Sorry to hear that you don't watch OLTL! If you don't mind me suggesting, now would be a great time to start. I am of course loyal to AMC (as I have been watching it since my birth), but from an unbiased perspective, OLTL is where the must-watch storylines are at these days. It's not too late to get into it. You still have about 9 months left of great stories. Enjoy them while you can!
