Happy Birthday to Sabine Singh!! As the recast of Greenlee, she had a rough go of it but definitely won over some fans. She celebrates her 37th birthday today!
I absolutely loathed her when she started. But after a while I really started to like her version of Greenlee. Some of the story lines she had were pretty terrible, but I think right before those "REAL GREENLEE" ads started playing she found a groove.
I liked Sabine from the start and she did make "Greenlee" her own. I will always be annoyed at TPTB on how they treated her and handled Rebecca's return. I haven't been impressed with the Old/Nu Greenlee.
Rebecca was and always will be greenlee. Although sabine was given terrible storylines she just never fit in. I was so happy when Rebecca came back. I love Greenlee but if Rebecca couldn't return it wasn't worth bringing someone like sabine on to portray her. She almost ruined such a good character, but thankfully THE REAL GREENLEE came back so all would be right:-)
ammorgan14, so glad that we are allowed to have our individual opinions because I totally disagree with your assessment of Sabine. I think the way the executives coddled Rebecca and pushed Sabine "out" just because Rebecca changed her mind again was terrible. With the exception of the time that Rebecca played Greenlee with Leo, Sabine nailed the character, Rebecca is not "the real Greenlee." JMHO
Like you said Libby, I too am so glad that we are all allowed to have our own opinions because I stand with mine. Actor's can only do with their characters as much as the writers allow, and for years the writing has not been at its best. I think Madison is one of the worst characters ever on the show, however there are a few fans out there. The old Marissa was awful and got so much critisism that AMC finally replaced her (and it was a very positive replacement at that), however Brittany ended up winning an award for her part so really, to each their own...

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, it seems Rebecca is the real Greenlee. Sabine had started to make Greenlee almost bearable again, which she hadn't been since Leo died.
ReplyDeleteThen, Rebecca returned and once again made the character her own - boring, lifeless, and utterly uninteresting.
That's the "Real Greenlee" for ya!
