Little PP Updates

There hasn't been any major news from Prospect Park lately regarding AMC.  But what I do have is some encouraging words from Cameron Mathison (Ryan) and Lindsay Hartley (Cara).   When asked on his FB page about where AMC will be filming when it heads to the internet and that they were surprised more names hadn't been announced yet, Cameron replied:  "We will shoot in LA. More AMC actors coming!!"

And this morning Lindsay Hartley posted via her Twitter"Morning everyone! Met with prospect park yesterday and discussed AMC. It's really happening baby! And soon!"

  1. Still having mixed feelings about the internet version, but leaning more and more to giving it a chance. Encouraged.

  2. They better get on the ball. If it is Oct now, they used to be 3 months ahead. So that would be about right. And I'm guessing they already have a majority of the cast, for better or worse. If anything, maybe they are trying to get Susan Lucci on board...? Or they may sprinkle cast announcements out as we get closer.

  3. I realize that hers' wasn't a major role, but according to her Tweet today, Denise Vasi has not been contacted. And when Michael E. Knight was interviewed, he had an amazing offer but wasn't on board with the time of the contract. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

  4. My guess - and it's only a guess - is that they are offering contracts in a particular order, based on the storylines that they plan to continue. And, if a key person in a story (such as Susan Lucci or Micheal E. knight) declines the offer, that *might* force them to alter (or kill) the storyline, which will affect whether or not they make offers to the lesser actors in those storylines.

For example, if they can't keep Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams as Angie & Jessie, their interest in writing for Frankie & Randi will probably be limited. Likewise, if Tad isn't coming back, it will affect what they offer the other characters in his storylines, such as children and potential love interests.

To me, this makes sense. It also explains why offers came to a screeching halt when Susan Lucci declined. Whatever they had planned to write for her evaporated...... and they had to regroup.

  5. I wish they would continue on with Frankie & Randi and Brot & Natalia; even without Darnell and Debbie, the Hubbards are/were a strong presence and this would keep their story going. There were plenty of fans invested in them; they were just sorely underused.

Good news is that Prospect Park started a Facebook page and already has 1,000 fans signed up. That's not a lot of people in the scheme of things, but I see that growing.

I like hearing that people are encouraged. I attended the Carolyn Hinsey AMC finale party and she seemed to have a positive feeling about it all.

  8. Thanks Gretchen, that's a fan page, not Prospect Park's official page. Still can't find that!

  9. Ok here it goes, first time ever to write a 'fan' letter, but it's important that I speak from the heart. I can't believe I'm crying over a soap opera even though it's been almost 2 weeks since AMC went off the air. It seems silly, but da*$ it...AMC has been a part of my life for over 27 years! I started watching with my mother when I was 14 and haven't stopped! Maybe it represents an escape, a break from the day. I was always able to look forward to having lunch & watch the show. Maybe it's the normalcy, the routine, to be able to count on having time for myself and focus on someone else's problems. We all have those daily routines that we can depend on: coffee & newspaper in the morning, dinner with the family in the evening, and for me it's always been AMC and lunch break. Call me silly or foolish just don't call me between 12-1pm...it's me & AMC. We all need to be selfish for an hour or two each day doing someting you really enjoy & AMC has been my daily treat, just for me. The show has had its ups and downs but I've stayed with it even while living in 2 foreign countries! The incredible storyline over the years have not only touched me but some have been thought provoking and have caused me to reflect on my own life... And yes some of the storylines were just plain hilarious 'can only happen in a soap opera' fun! I don't know who has more fun...the actors (who make complex, interesting caracters come to life) or the writers who get to plan all the crazy schemes and tell the endearing, funny, moving, inspirational storylines of the character's lives. We all know and can identify with someone on the show. I'm praying to the soap gods (Prospect Park) that AMC will come back from the dead and that I, and all the other long time fans will be able to soon enjoy Pine Valley once again.

  10. REST ASSURED INTERNET VIEWING IS JUST LIKE WATCHING TV! I've watched live sports for a few years and some of my favorite shows (including AMC & OLTL) on the internet even though I also watch them on TV. I have a 24" monitor and it is all good! Let's be thrilled our shows will live on!
