Rebecca Wins Skating with the Stars!!!!
After the shocking elimination of Jonny Mosley last week, it was truly anyone's game and nothing was certain. But our girl prevailed and took home the trophy! Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) won the first season (maybe the only season) of Skating with the Stars! Her two biggest competitors throughout the season were Jonny and Brandon Michael Smith. Brandon dropped out after a few weeks when he fell ill with a stomach virus. So it looked like it was going to be a Rebecca/Jonny finale. But underdog Bethany Frankel's fans saved her and on to the finale she went when Jonny and partner Brooke were eliminated. From where I'm sitting, it was a no brainer of a outcome but after what happened to Jonny, a win for Rebecca was far from a sure thing even though she was by far the superior skater. But win she did!!! Congratulations Rebecca and my hometown boy Fred Palascak.

Non-AMC Post.... in Memory of Bob Feller, Cleveland Legend
I was on my way home from FL back in May of '07, for good this time, after my dad's illness. I had to get home and get my house ready because he and mom were moving in. I was on stand by at the airport. It's a little tricky in Orlando. Tricky maybe isn't the right word, but there are a lot more people all trying to get home from Disney or whatever, so stand by could have you sitting there for who knows how long until you finally get on a plane. I checked in and found a seat to wait out my fate.
I was just sitting there, kind of daydreaming about all that had happened in the last eight weeks when an older gentlemen sat down next to to me. I glanced over at him. Then again. And then again. And finally I said, "excuse me, but are you Bob Feller?" He looked at me with a smile and said, "yes I am" and put his hand out for me to shake.
If you're not from Cleveland or not a big baseball fan, you may not know who Bob Feller is, so let me enlighten you. Bob Feller is the winningest pitcher in Cleveland Indians history. He is a Hall of Famer. He was a living legend. And he was my mom's all time favorite player ever and I've been hearing about how great he is my whole life. In the days when mom took the bus to the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium and sat in the bleachers for 25¢. If I heard that once, I heard it 5,000 times.
Bob Feller!!! I was pretty excited. He was known then as a curmudgeonly old coot who remembers ever single stat he ever put out. But to me, he was nice as could be. Not the least bit cranky or curmudgeonly. We talked for a good 10 minutes.... about my dad, about his son he was visiting and the speech he had made while in Orlando. About my mom being his biggest fan and about how I may or may not get on the plane. He was so kind and very content to sit and talk to me until the plane started boarding. He was in first class so he was called to board first. And as he got up to leave, he turned back to me and said, "I hope you get on the plane." I thanked him and resumed my wait. I was so taken with just talking to him, I never even thought to ask for an autograph or to take a picture. Doh!
A woman sitting nearby, who apparently witnessed my excitement at meeting him, turned to me and said, "Who was that?" I looked at her with an "are you kidding me look" and said, "That was Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Feller!" She replied, "well I guess that made your day." Damn right it did! Coming off the worst eight weeks of my life, and probably the most horrendous airport experience I will ever have (which is a different story altogether), hunkering down next to a legend is pretty sweet!
I did get on that plane and when he saw me boarding he gave me a big smile and said, "you made it" with a thumbs up. Bob Feller!!!
He passed away this week at the ripe old age of 92. Thanks for being such a great guy Bob and taking the time to just sit and talk. A true legend, a gentleman and a beautiful memory I will never forget.

Well we didn't get her back in the recasted role of Marissa, but Alexa Havins (ex-Babe) has landed a choice role on the ABC hit drama, Grey's Anatomy! Beginning in February, she will be taking on the role of Thatcher Grey's (played by Jeff Perry) new girlfriend! Thatcher is the father of Meredith and Lexie. Is it safe to say they won't be too thrilled their father is dating someone so young?

AMC's New Opening Credits!
TV Guide Online has shown us the first look at AMC's new opening credits, set to debut next week on December 22. I don't know... it's nice and all, but it looks like Dynasty. I'm glad they kept the same theme, but I miss the book! It's classic.

In case you haven't heard by now, the hot gift item this year for soap fans is the Soap Dishes Cookbook. The book not only gives fans an inside look at what their fave stars like to cook, but it also donates to the Desi Geestman Foundation. How can you miss?
But there's more.... I'm actually in the running to win Soap Dishes contest, a trip to Hollywood!!! With only two weeks left in the contest, you can help me win!! Just go to the Soap Dishes website and on the right side, where it says Get on our Insiders list, sign up to receive emails from Soap Dishes by putting in your name and email address, and then in the spot where it asks for your Referral Code, put in KathyPVB. Spoilers up! This week is the week of Cara. She and Jake come face to face. Tad gives her a warning. And she and Jake both have flashbacks of their relationship. Also this week... Annie lashes out, Jack wants to set the date, Madison has to make a decision and Greenlee and Erica go toe to toe!
Thanks to all of those who inquired about my dad. He's doing much better, I'm happy to report :) He won't be home for some time, but he looks good and feels much better.

Effective Immediately Debbi Morgan on Leave!!
SOD is reporting that Debbi Morgan (Angie) is taking a leave of absence from AMC for personal reasons. It's unclear how long she will be gone or when she will be back. Hopefully all is well in her world and we'll see her back soon!
CASTING NEWS: Finn Wittrock Leaving AMC!!
So which is it? SOD is reporting that Finn Wittrock (Damon) has decided not to renew his contract and ABC Soaps in Depth is reporting that he has been let go. Either way, I can't say this comes as too big a surprise as his airtime kept dwindling and Colby is getting more and more interested in Asher. I guess that means I'll never get my Tad/Hillary reunion! And darnit! He's leaving just when he got the haircut I've been waiting for! Finn should continue airing into January.

Spoilers for the Week of December 5!!!
This weeks spoilers are now up! And what a week it is... Caleb and Asher bond, Cara comes to town, Madison is knocked up and friends and family gather for Zach's memorial service.
On a personal note, my postings for the next few weeks will be very limited (unless something really big happens of course!). It's the busiest time of year for my catering/candy business and in addition to all the orders I am working on, my dad is back in the hospital. He is stable and ok, but there for an undisclosed amount of time. Have no worries, I will continue to post weekly spoilers, but smaller postings are probably going to suffer a bit. Thanks for your patience and understanding! xoxo

A Bevvy of Birthday Beauties
It's a big day for AMC birthdays! Starting with one of the biggest new stars to come out of AMC, Amanda Seyfried (ex-Joni)!! She celebrates her 25th birthday today. She stars in the 2011 movie, Little Red Riding Hood, with Gary Oldman (one of my faves!).
Also today, Lauren Roman (ex-Laura) celebrates her 35th birthday today!! Lauren has most recently been doing background and session singing.
And last but not least, Melody Anderson (ex-Natalie) celebrates her 55th birthday today!! Melody's Natalie was most remembered because she got her sight back after wishing on the famous Dillon Christmas angel!

Former Alfred on Stage!!!
Bill Timoney (ex-Alfred Vanderpool) can be seen this holiday season at Arkansas Repertory Theatre, performing in the stage version of one of my all time faves, the classic movie A CHRISTMAS STORY. Bill and his wife, actress Georgette Reilly Timoney, are portraying the parents of young Ralphie, Mrs. Parker and the Old Man, the boy whose only request for Santa is to receive a Red Ryder BB gun rifle ("you'll shoot your eye out, kid!"). A CHRISTMAS STORY plays at Arkansas Rep in Little Rock from December 3rd thru December 26th. Ticket information and directions can be accessed at www.therep.org.
CASTING NEWS: Fr. Clarence Recast
Never fear Pine Valley fans, Fr. Clarence (or as I like to call him, the Angel of Death) will be making his yearly appearance on Monday, December 27. But he's going to look a little different this year. In an emergency recast, Malachy McCourt has been replaced with actor Michael McCarthy. McCourt has played the jolly old spirit since 2003.
