Official word just came in, AMC and OLTL will not continue online. Read Prospect Park's official statement HERE.
It's not exactly a surprise. The news has been filtering in all morning and I really just wanted us all to enjoy JR's big win last night and Thanksgiving and not have all the downer news posted, but there it is. It couldn't be avoided any longer. I guess there really is nothing more to say.

I wonder if there is a way for the 'original' ending script to be published. I know we can't go back in time and see the planned 2-hour finale, but we could imagine it by reading the words. That's the best consolation prize I can think of...
I am really ticked off that we just get left hanging. I don't watch anything on ABC anymore
I do watch other programming on ABC...football and some prime time stuff, but will never watch the Chew or anything else in the AMC time slot.......I can find other stuff to do with my time........
Food for thought:
1. Yesterday, Jerry Ver Dorn, who plays Clint Buchanan on OLTL, made an interesting comment - that fans should blame the economy, rather than Prospect Park. According to Jerry, PP had a big chunk of financing arranged that fell through at the last minute because of the lousy economy. And, with things as bad as they are, it's a lousy time to be trying to raise capital.
2. On the same note, a columnist at Soap Opera Central noted a sad fact about the timing. Apparently, three years ago, before AMC moved to California, insiders at the network had already decided to ditch the soaps. If they had quietly spread that news throughout the industry, they might have had time to find qualified buyers for both shows, rather than waiting until the last minute when PP tried to throw a plan together.
At this point, of course, the point is moot. The shows are over and people are blaming whoever they choose to blame. But, I DO see merit in both of these points. I wish that ABC had tried to sell the shows two or three years ago when there was still time to save them. At the very least, PP would have had two years to get their act together, rather than try to raise $100 million during the worst economy since the Great Depression.
You know I still forget AMC is gone. If it's 12 Noon I say oh, AMC is on ... but it's not. I really hope AMC tests Micheal E. Knight w/Kelly Ripa. I'd like to see if they have chemistry.
maybe the writters of the show can make a book series from the show...
maybe the writters could continue the story in a series of books..
I have found something else to occupy my time in the old AMC time slot. It is called walking. I walk for about an hour and a half, covering about 3.5 miles. Great way to get back and to keep in shape.
Surprised? No.
Somewhat disappointed? Yes.
Well that stinks. For now I'm enjoying the re-runs on Soapnet.. At least until that's gone too :( BOOOOO
