Eva LaRue Dishes Sarah Michelle Gellar's Role!

In a new interview with The Examiner, Eva LaRue (Maria) dishes on her final performance as Maria and the role her good pal, Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall) will be playing when they have their scenes together on September 21.  Says Eva:  "It was cheesy brilliance! Sarah actually plays a psych patient who thinks she is Erica Kane's daughter. I can't wait for fans to see it!"  Sounds perfect!!!

CASTING NEWS: Eva LaRue Slated For Return!!

Yahoo news is reporting that Eva LaRue will be making a return to AMC before the show goes off the air in September.  Slated for a few shows in July, Maria will return to Pine Valley from California, where she has lived since her exit from AMC in 2005.   She took part in last years 40th Anniversary special as well.  Eva currently stars on CSI: Miami on CBS.  Personally I am thrilled with these returns.  I just wish both Eva's and Josh's were more than a few days.  But I'll take what I can get.  My current wish list is... David Canary (Adam/Stuart), Julia Barr (Brooke), Jennifer Bassey (Marian), Keith Hamilton Cobb (Noah), Sydney Penny (Julia), Ray MacDonnell (Joe),  Lee Meriweather (Ruth - Mary Fickett of course, would be ideal but I love Lee in the role and Mary is unable to return), Kate Collins (Janet) and just because I love him so Mathew St. Patrick (Adrian).

Third Times a Charm for Eva LaRue!!

As previously reported, Eva LaRue (ex-Maria) married businessman Joe Cappuccio this past
Saturday, June 26, in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.  Well ok, it was previously reported that they were to wed in Thailand, but things change!   The bride wore a won shoulder gown Oday Shakar gown that she helped design.  The couple were set to wed last year, but ended up calling it off and remained apart for 8 months.  After reuniting in November it wasn't long before the wedding was back on!  Congratulations to both Eva and Joe!  Eva was previously married to John O'Hurley from 1992 to 1994, and then to AMC co-star John Callahan (ex-Edmund) from 1996 to 2005. The happy couple will be featured in the new issue of Life & Style magazine.

More Santos' for AMC's 40th Anniversary??

AMC has approached Eva LaRue (ex-Maria) about a possible return for AMC's 40th Anniversary shows, slated to air January 4 and 5. She would be joining former onscreen brother and sister in law, Mateo and Hayley. As previously reported, Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa will be making the return to Pine Valley for the anniversary. My hope is that these anniversary shows will be centered around a retirement party for Joe Martin, since Ray MacDonnell will not be making the move to LA when the show relocates in December. Eva's appearance stems on her CSI: Miami shooting schedule, but according to SOD, her rep says Eva would love to make the appearance.

FLASHBACK - June 24, 1997

Twelve years ago on this day, Erica Kane returned Maddie Grey to her rightful parents, Edmund and Maria. Oh what a tangled web of deception this was! On the day Erica was to re-wed Dimitri, happy and pregnant with his child, she collapsed on her way to the alter and suffered a miscarriage. It was difficult for Erica to live in harmony with back at Wildwind with Edmund and Maria, who were expecting a child, a painful reminder of what Erica had lost. Her suspicions about Maria and Dimitri's new found closeness got the better of her and Maria finally admitted to Erica that she and Dimitri had an affair.

Erica started to wonder if the baby Maria was carrying was actually Dimitri's and in a case of really poor judgment, Erica lured Maria to a cabin in the woods in the middle of a raging storm to confront her. Maria ended up going into labor but due to a flash flood, the roads were washed out and they had no way to get to the hospital. Erica delivered the baby. Maria begged her to take the child to the hospital so Erica left and tried desperately to get the baby to safety. But her car skidded off the road and went into the river. Erica searched and searched for the baby, but came up empty.

With all believing the baby had died, Erica went back to the scene of the accident and found a trailer nearby. Here was the home of Esther Glynn. And here is where Erica found Maria's baby. Making a deal with Esther, Erica decided to keep the child for herself and passed her off as a child she adopted from Russia. She named the baby Sonya Kane.

Watching Maria grieve for her child became more than Erica could handle though and she finally decided to give the child back to the Grey's. Furious with her deception, Dimitri washed his hands of Erica. She was sent to prison for kidnapping

Third Time is Not the Charm for LaRue!

As previously reported, Eva LaRue (ex-Maria) was set to wed businessman Joe Cappuccio this June. But the wedding has been called off. Eva has cited the grooms commitment issues as a big part of the cancelled nuptials, but still considers her almost groom a "good guy."

The former AMC star, and now star of CSI: Miami, is on the cover of this months In Style Weddings magazine looking stunning as always. She shares that she is planning a June wedding to businessman Joe Cappuccio on a beach in Mexico. Both Eva and Joe have been married twice before (Eva to John O'Hurley and John Callahan - ex Edmund) and she was wary of marrying again. But love won out!! Joe proposed to Eva at Victoria Falls in Africa this past May.
