David Canary Reflects on his Time on AMC

David Canary (Adam/Stuart) gave a lovely interview to my hometown newspaper, The Cleveland Plain Dealer this week where he reflected on his time in Pine Valley and the cancellation.  He's just amazing, and has always been a personal fave.

Emmy Winner David Zyla!!

AMC's Emmy winning Costume Designer, David Zyla, has an interview with the Solessence Beauty Blog that posted today.  In it he talks about how he got his start, his success in the business and his recently published book, The Color of Style.   It's a testament to David's talent as Costume Designer that the longest thread on the PVB Message boards is all about the shows fashions!

This Year's Daytime Emmy Reels!

The Daytime Emmy's are NEXT WEEK and AMC has three nominations in the main categories (10 nominations total). Here is what was submitted for Emmy voting.


For the Outstanding Drama Series nomination, AMC submitted the show where everyone and their brother came to Chandler Mansion gunning for Adam.

Bobbie Eakes (Krystal) nominated for Best Lead Actress submitted the show where Krystal admits to Tad that Marissa is Babe's twin sister and that she sold her after she was born.


Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake) nominated for Best Supporting Actor submitted the show where Jake learns that Amanda slept with David.

REMINDER: The View's Tribute to AMC Airs on Soapnet!

As previously reported, The View's tribute show to AMC that aired on Decmeber 11 will be rebroadcast on Soapnet on Saturday, January 9 at 6:00 pm EST or on Sunday, January 10 at 11:00 pm EST.

Happy 40th Birthday AMC!!!!!

Today is the day, AMC's 40th Anniversary!!!! I think I've been watching 31 of those years, give or take from the days before VCR's. I hold this show dear, even when it's not it's best, it's still special. The rich history of the show, my own rich history with the show. I was 13 years old when I started watching AMC in 1979, drawn in by the love story of Jenny and Greg, the friendship of Jenny and Jesse, the love story of Angie and Jesse. And through the years, as my favorites came and went, there was always a constant, that history. When a favorite left, a new favorite took their place. And AMC always instilled a level of humor in their storytelling, which I also love. The show tackles issues that are important and relatable. At times it's lost its way, but my faith that it will come back, bigger and better has never been stronger than it is now. Happy Anniversary AMC!!! Here's to 40 more years!!!!

AMC Nominated for WGA!!!??

The Writers Guild of America nominations were announced yesterday and AMC was among them. The writers included in the nomination are: Jeff Beldner, Joanna Cohen, Kate Hall, Chip Hayes, Michelle Patrick, Rebecca Taylor, Tracey Thomson, Addie Walsh and Charles Pratt, Jr. Nominated for Outstanding Daytime Serial, AMC shares the category with ATWT, OLTL and Y&R. The awards will be handed out on February 20, 2010 at simultaneous events at the Hudson Theatre in NYC and at the Regency Century Plaza Hotel in LA. Congrats to all the nominees!

The View Celebrates AMC!!!!

Tune into The View on Friday, December 11 when the talk show dedicates it's whole hour to All My Children to celebrate AMC's 40th Anniversary and their move out west! The show will feature guest appearances by Susan Lucci (Erica), Debbi Morgan (Angie), Michael E. Knight (Tad), Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Rebecca Budig (Greenlee), Vincent Irizarry (David) and AMC creator, Agnes Nixon. There will be some surprises too. December 11 is AMC's last day of filming in their NYC studio.

IMPORTANT UPDATE to Rachael Ray AMC Garage Sale

As previously reported, The Rachael Ray Show is hosting an AMC Garage Sale for props and memorabilia. This event was a "just show up ready to shop" event but has now been changed to TICKET ONLY. Please call Karina at (917) 332 3188 ASAP. No one will be admitted without a ticket. A limited number of tickets are available. The event takes place Monday, Nov. 23, at 11am. Address will be provided along with ticket confirmation.

It's An AMC Garage Sale!!!

On Monday, November 23rd from 11 am - 3 pm EST, The Rachael Ray Show will be hosting a special garage sale selling off props, set pieces, memorabilia and wardrobe that AMC won't be taking with them when they move out to LA in December. The Rachael Ray Show studio is located at 222 East 44th between 2nd and 3rd in NYC. All proceeds from the sale will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. CASTING NEWS - Mateo and Hayley Return!!!

Just announced on Live with Regis and Kelly, Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos will be returning to Pine Valley for AMC's 40th Anniversary! AMC celebrates that anniversary on January 5, 2010.

BREAKING NEWS: AMC Moving to LA!!!

Following weeks of speculation, the cast and crew of AMC was informed today that they are moving production to Los Angeles in December and start shooting in LA on January 4. SOD broke the news after being scooped by Daytime Confidential last week. OLTL will move into AMC's vacated NYC studo. Both shows will be then begin filming in HD.

This news leads to tons of questions, that I'm doing my best to get answers to (and updating this item as new information comes in). But my first question is what will long time NY based actors do? Will they go or will we be losing Susan Lucci (Erica), David Canary (Adam), Michael E. Knight (Tad), Thorsten Kaye (Zach - who's significant other Susan Haskell is on OLTL and remaining in NY), Ray MacDonnell (Joe), Jill Larson (Opal) just to name a few. Will we going to lose all of these actors?? Is this the beginning of the end of AMC??

ABC released these statements: "All My Children is one of the most recognizable brands in television, and we are committed to continue telling and enhancing the stories of the residents of Pine Valley," said Brian Frons, president of the Daytime division of the Disney/ABC Television Group. "The move to Los Angeles enables both 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live' to dramatically improve the series production models and achieve significant efficiencies while enhancing each show. We had to examine every option on the table to combat the current economic realities, and rising costs of production, and we are doing it in a way that makes each of our shows stronger."

And: "I am so grateful for the wonderful commitment from ABC to 'All My Children,'" said Agnes Nixon, creator of both shows. "While I will miss being able to run over to the show ... it feels a little like I am sending one of my children off to be married. ... I am glad the network is making moves that will enable the team to continue telling stories about Pine Valley. ... There are many more secrets to be revealed."

(8/6 update) The lastest from SOD online says, "A high-placed show source says to expect the returns of multiple L.A.-based AMC alums, "three-to-four big names, maybe more." Hints one high-profile alum, "I always said I would have stayed on the show forever if it was in L.A."
