Tune into The View on Friday, December 11 when the talk show dedicates it's whole hour to All My Children to celebrate AMC's 40th Anniversary and their move out west! The show will feature guest appearances by Susan Lucci (Erica), Debbi Morgan (Angie), Michael E. Knight (Tad), Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Rebecca Budig (Greenlee), Vincent Irizarry (David) and AMC creator, Agnes Nixon. There will be some surprises too. December 11 is AMC's last day of filming in their NYC studio.

IMPORTANT UPDATE to Rachael Ray AMC Garage Sale

As previously reported, The Rachael Ray Show is hosting an AMC Garage Sale for props and memorabilia. This event was a "just show up ready to shop" event but has now been changed to TICKET ONLY. Please call Karina at (917) 332 3188 ASAP. No one will be admitted without a ticket. A limited number of tickets are available. The event takes place Monday, Nov. 23, at 11am. Address will be provided along with ticket confirmation.

It's An AMC Garage Sale!!!

On Monday, November 23rd from 11 am - 3 pm EST, The Rachael Ray Show will be hosting a special garage sale selling off props, set pieces, memorabilia and wardrobe that AMC won't be taking with them when they move out to LA in December. The Rachael Ray Show studio is located at 222 East 44th between 2nd and 3rd in NYC. All proceeds from the sale will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Please be aware, if you attend this event, you are attending the sale not a taping of The Rachael Ray Show. Portions of the event will be filmed for a feature on her show that will air at a later date.

CASTING NEWS: Who is Going to LA, Who Isn't!

The famed "list" of who will be going to LA with AMC and who won't has been released this morning. Topping the list of who is going is Susan Lucci. Despite living her whole life in NY, she has decided to continue on as AMC's much loved Erica Kane. Joining her is (as previously reported) is Cameron Mathison, Brittany Allen (Marissa), David Canary (Adam - PHEW!), Bobbie Eakes (Krystal), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie), Stephanie Gatschet (Madison), Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake), Vincent Irizarry (David), Shannon Kane (Natalia) Michael E. Knight (Tad - another phew!), Jamie Luner (Liza), Adam Mayfield (Scott), JR Martinez (Brot), Debbi Morgan (Angie), Cornelius Smith, Jr. (Frankie), Denise Vasi (Randi), Darnell Williams (Jesse) and Jacob Young (JR).

Ray MacDonnell (Joe) will be retiring from AMC and not making the move, although he may appear from time to time. The biggest name not making the move is Thorsten Kaye (Zach). Considering his significant other, Susan Haskell has a contract role on OLTL and would be staying in NY with their children, this doesn't come as a big surprise. Alicia Minshew (Kendall) will be on maternity leave at the time of the move.

Chrishell Stause (Amanda) was planning on leaving AMC at the end of her contract (the end of this year) but has decided not to stay with the show after the move.

That leaves Jill Larson (Opal) who is recurring and will most likely stay that way. While not making the move, if available she could still appear from time to time. Daniel Kennedy (Pete) who, after the last update to the opening, no longer appeared in it, indicating he was dropped to recurring, is most likely in the same situation. But there has been no official word on either of them.

AMC will tape in their NYC location until December 11 and then moves on to LA, with their first tape date there being January 4.

Cameron Confirmed to LA?

As we wait to hear just who is staying in NYC and who is making the move to LA in December, little bits and pieces are trickling down. The New York Times did an interview with Cameron this past week, talking about how he's put his brownstone in Harlem up for sale and is looking for a home in Pasadena, CA, near his new studio. So there you go. Cameron is making the move with AMC!

BREAKING NEWS: AMC Moving to LA!!!

Following weeks of speculation, the cast and crew of AMC was informed today that they are moving production to Los Angeles in December and start shooting in LA on January 4. SOD broke the news after being scooped by Daytime Confidential last week. OLTL will move into AMC's vacated NYC studo. Both shows will be then begin filming in HD.

This news leads to tons of questions, that I'm doing my best to get answers to (and updating this item as new information comes in). But my first question is what will long time NY based actors do? Will they go or will we be losing Susan Lucci (Erica), David Canary (Adam), Michael E. Knight (Tad), Thorsten Kaye (Zach - who's significant other Susan Haskell is on OLTL and remaining in NY), Ray MacDonnell (Joe), Jill Larson (Opal) just to name a few. Will we going to lose all of these actors?? Is this the beginning of the end of AMC??

ABC released these statements: "All My Children is one of the most recognizable brands in television, and we are committed to continue telling and enhancing the stories of the residents of Pine Valley," said Brian Frons, president of the Daytime division of the Disney/ABC Television Group. "The move to Los Angeles enables both 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live' to dramatically improve the series production models and achieve significant efficiencies while enhancing each show. We had to examine every option on the table to combat the current economic realities, and rising costs of production, and we are doing it in a way that makes each of our shows stronger."

And: "I am so grateful for the wonderful commitment from ABC to 'All My Children,'" said Agnes Nixon, creator of both shows. "While I will miss being able to run over to the show ... it feels a little like I am sending one of my children off to be married. ... I am glad the network is making moves that will enable the team to continue telling stories about Pine Valley. ... There are many more secrets to be revealed."

(8/6 update) The lastest from SOD online says, "A high-placed show source says to expect the returns of multiple L.A.-based AMC alums, "three-to-four big names, maybe more." Hints one high-profile alum, "I always said I would have stayed on the show forever if it was in L.A."
