The Stars Are Out For the Start of Emmy Weekend!

Some AMC stars and nominees were out last night at the 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards nominees cocktail reception held at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.  Check out Denise Vasi (Randi), Chrishell Stause (Amanda), Trent Garrett (Asher), Brittany Allen (ex-Marissa - nominee), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie - nominee) and Stephanie Gatschet (Madison).  The Daytime Emmys will be held this Sunday, June 19 in Las Vegas and televised on CBS beginning at 8:00 pm EST.  

Denise Vasi Returns to Guest on White Collar!

Denise Vasi (Randi) will be returning to her guest starring role in the USA Network drama White Collar.  Her character, Cindy, appeared in the pilot two seasons ago and will once again appear this season.  No airdate is available yet.   But with the shooting scheduled in NYC this weekend, Denise will be unable to attend her galpal Stephanie Gatschet's Yogathon this Sunday in LA.

Help Stephanie Gatschet Fight Lung Cancer!

Stephanie Gatschet (Madison) has a cause that is near and dear to her heart, and incidentally to mine too.  When her mother was diagnosed with lung cancer 5 years ago, she began supporting the National Lung Cancer Partnership in an effort to educate people about the disease and raise money.  Says Stephanie: "The stigma of lung cancer being a smoker's disease really stands in the way of getting the proper funding and awareness," she points out. "And it's so unfortunate, not only because it doesn't really matter if a person smoked or not -- no one deserves to get cancer -- but more than half of the people diagnosed with lung cancer now are non-smokers! Everyone should know about that, and the more we can remove the lung cancer conversation from the smoking relation, the more progress we'll make in curing it."  And this is so true.  One of my very dear friends was diagnosed with lung cancer back in July and she never smoked a day in her life.  I can't thank Stephanie enough for her part in raising awareness of this disease and on March 20 she is organizing a fundraiser, the Free To Breathe fundraising yogathon at Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge, CA, which is actually where many of AMC's location shots are filmed.  Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Christina Bennett Lind (Bianca), Denise Vasi (Randi) and Jordi Vilasuso (Griffin) will all be taking part in the fundraiser with Stephanie and you can too!  Sign up or donate at FreeToBreathe.org.

 Richard celebrated his 61st birthday yesterday!   He was most recently seen on Oprah to surprise Susan Lucci and on the Feb. 25 episode of Blue Bloods!

Bobbie Eakes Fan Event!!!

In conjunction with AMC Fan Club Weekend, Bobbie Eakes will be hosting her own event, Krystal's Country BBQ!!!  The event will include a BBQ buffet, country music DJ and line dance instruction!   It takes place on Saturday, September 25 from 6:30 - 10:30 pm and will include some surprise guests.  Tickets are $85.   Click here for tickets and more info!

No Wins for AMC, But They Look Great!!!

AMC may not have won any Emmys tonight but Diva Blackwell has a few things to say about our stars knowing how to dress for the occasion! The color of the night was definitely silver and gold and many of our ladies shined. (remember you can click on any picture to enlarge it)







The stunning Bobbie Eakes (Krystal), nominated tonight for Outstanding Lead Actress, wore a beautiful silver gown and you can see just a hint of a red shoe. She looks amazing!










Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) a presenter tonight, also in silver, shined! Her ensemble was a bit more casual, but the up do and the awesome shoes completed a great look.










Chrishell Stause (Amanda) was interviewed backstage about working on a soap. This girl can wear a burlap sack and look gorgeous but this dress is no burlap sack! Is it two shades of gold or both silver and gold? I can't tell in the pics. Her hair is fantastic too!








Not to be outdone and pulling in not just color but a pattern too, Denise Vasi (Randi) is always a stunner.

No Emmy night would be complete without Susan Lucci (Erica)!! I'm a sucker for a black gown and tonight, Susan's did not disappoint! Love the bodice, love the mermaid bottom. Love her hair! Love her head to toe.










Jamie Luner (Liza) also opted for black (much like Liza lol). The look is simple but elegant.














Melissa Claire Egan (Annie) looked like a Grecian goddess in this pale yellow gown. Her hair, from what I could make out in the pic, looks stunning!











And even though she was on the road with Walt's tux, Stephanie Gatschet (Madison) certainly did not forget to pack her own dress. What a knock out!!! I love the broach on the bodice, I love the color with the black at the bottom.

Denise Vasi (Randi) confirmed via her Twitter that she and boyfriend Sevan Arslanian got engaged this weekend! Considering the groom to be is a diamond wholesaler, that must be one spectacular ring! Congrats Denise and Sevan!

After September 3, it looks like Randi will be in the free and clear. Fletcher (Kris Eivers) will meet with his untimely demise when Taylor swoops in to save Randi from Fletcher's attack. I don't know about you, but I am happy to see a woman save another woman for once!
