CASTING NEWS: Shannon Kane Departs AMC!

It probably comes as no big surprise (especially considering she did not make it to the new opening credits), but Shannon Kane will be leaving her role of Natalia.  Opting not to extend her contract, Shannon's last airdate is February 4, but it's not final.  She will be returning from time to time.  She joined the cast in October of 2008 and it's taken until recently for her to find love with Brot Monroe.  Poor Brot, finally gets a love and off she goes!   Shannon's blossoming movie career is likely a big reason for her exit.  Up next for the busy actress is the film S.W.A.T:  Fire Fight to be released this year.

Natalie Hall Music Video!!

New Role for Exiting Mayfield!!

Exiting AMC star, Adam Mayfield (Scott) has already landed his next gig!  Adam will be starring in the independent movie, The Preacher's Daughter, as the love interest of Andrea Bowen's (Desperate Housewives) character, Hannah.  In the film, after 4 years away, Hannah must return to her home to face her troubled past as the daughter of a very strict religious minister.  It's currently being filmed in Texas and will be released in 2011.

Justin Bruening has "Class"

New daddy Justin Bruening (ex-Jamie) stars in the Hallmark Channel original movie, Class, premiering Saturday, August 14 at 9:00 pm.  In the movie, Justin plays cocky law student Whitt Sheffield.  Whitt's class is given an assignment to act as a mentor for a young single mother who needs help finding a job.  

Rebecca Budig Appears in "Please Give"

Hitting theaters this past weekend, Please Give is the latest movie by writer/director Nicole Holofcener and is receiving rave reviews! The movie centers mainly around Kate, played by Catherine Keener, who runs a resale furniture shop. Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) has a small but memorable role as a character known only as Big Back. Life As We Know It Set for October Release!

Josh Duhamel's (ex-Leo) latest movie, Life As We Know It, a romantic comedy with Katherine Heigl, is set for release on October 8. In the movie, two people who do not like each other much (Duhamel and Heigl) are given joint custody of a one year old baby when their mutual friends, the baby's parents, die in an accident. In other Josh news, When In Rome hits the stores this week on DVD.

Crimson Mask Wins Best Picture at Staten Island Film Festival!!!

The Crimson Mask, starring Chrishell Stause (Amanda) is on the film festival circuit now and this past weekend won Best Picture and Best Editing at the Staten Island Film Festival! It also won the Van Gogh Award for Best Sci-Film at the 2010 Amsterdam Film Festival last week and countless other awards while on the circuit. The movie is now available on DVD or you can catch it on On Demand beginning July 9. The story centers around Caine, wealthy businessman and Parker, a professional athlete who's fallen on hard times as they find their fates colliding in an alternate universe New York City where an ancient conspiracy could prove the path to redemption. Chrishell plays the role of Jules. Robert Clohessy (ex-Doug Lewis - drunk, abuse father of JR's girlfriend Laurie) stars as Parker.

AMC Alums in Movies!!!

Yesterday I went to see New Moon and before the movie it was like old home week from AMC! Every trailer they showed had a former AMCer in a prominent role. Starting with, When in Rome. Josh Duhamel (ex-Leo) stars in this movie and although she's not in the trailer, Alexa Havins (ex-Babe) also appears in the movie. It will be released January 29, 2010.




Next up is Letters to Juliet, starring Amanda Seyfried (ex-Joni). She has come a long way from shy Joni Stafford! This movie looks really sweet. It's being released May 7, 2010.




And to finish up our tour of former AMCers on the big screen, Alexandra Daddario (ex-Laurie Lewis) stars in Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, being released February 12, 2010. On AMC, Laurie and Joni were best friends, vying for the affections of JR and Jamie. But look at her now!!!
