COMMENTARY: Who's Zoomin Who Here?

Just a warning for you spoiler free folks out there.  I am going to be discussing a rather big spoiler for next week here, so if you don't want to know or don't want to play the speculation game, stop reading now.

Now, with that out of the way, spoilers reveal someone major dies this week on AMC.  Probably in the last few minutes on Friday, typically.  There aren't many guesses really, and just one glaring choice.  David.   But how can this be!?   David can't die!!    He's too important!  He's got his hand in too many pots!   He's just so deliciously evil and fun to watch.  And there's your answer.  David can't die.  If he does, that ends his hold on Greenlee, the problems with the Hubbard's, his hatred of Jake, his interesting new budding friendship (or more??) with Liza, his non existent relationship with Marissa, Caleb and Tad's plans to bring him down.  It ends major parts of many stories.  So no, David can't die.  If he is not only really dead, but really most sincerely dead, dare I say the show ends.

I've never been one to believe that the fate of any show rests on the shoulders of one person.  But we have some extenuating circumstances here.  Other than David, does AMC have an antagonistic that can have their hand in so many pots and continue to stir?   No one since Adam, and he's already gone.  You may hate David (although I can't imagine it myself!) but he is necessary to the fabric of Pine Valley.

So what's really happening then?  Well I don't know but I'll happy to guess.  David this week spots Greenlee and Ryan together, plotting against him.  He sees them laughing and that is when he starts to spiral.  They're all laughing at him, mocking him... Ryan, Greenlee, Jake, Angie, Jesse, Amanda, Tad ... everyone.   And then, it becomes apparent that many in town don't just hate him but want him dead.  Maybe someone tries, but David is ready, armed with one of his crazy potions or elixirs and a few buy offs of just the right people.  David is dead.   And just when Pine Valley starts to relax and breathe that collective sigh of relief, he'll be back with an even bigger vengeance than ever imagined!

So.. ya with me?   Seems kind of a given right now that Liza will help him in this endeavor, but who else?  Madison perhaps?  Hmmm... the possibilities seem rather exciting!

I think it's going to be one of the Kid's possibly Miranda, she'll be passed out, maybe she won't survive and Angie will be racked with Guilt?

It would add a totally new dimension to a show, that's been so one sided lately.

Not to mention David is the ONLY interesting thing on this show. A true broken character with a heart of Black Gold.

the man can be so sinister but, yet cares about so many people to the height of love.

They haven't really explored his tortured past enough to show the duality of his character.

If David Dies, I will stop watching the show, otherwise I'd have to watch Scott, the muppet, fight with Jr. The Midget.

Who's interested in that?

I'm leaning in a TOTALLY different direction Kathy! I think/hope the character that dies is MARISSA! Think of the story possibilities out of sacrificing this character! I think Angie will accidentally cause Marissa's death during one of her "blind spells." This would further fuel David's vendetta/hatred of the Hubbard family; it would rip apart the friendship between Krystal and Angie; Caleb would be there to comfort Krystal during her loss; JR would turn to alcohol again and Annie would be there to comfort him, leading to a rift in her marriage with Scott. AJ would be so traumitized after losing another mother, and Jesse would have to arrest his own wife for murder. With new DA Liza in his back pocket, David would see to it that Angie was prosecuted to the max, also refeuling the fued between the Hubbards and Liza. So much more story potential out of this option!

David... I like how you think! And I would so love never have to see Marissa's drab and boring wardrobe ever again! :)

That's a very interesting idea, David. However, I don't think we're that fortunate. Marissa is one of the few characters who is actually expendable. I do think Kathy's speculation is spot-on--just one of Dr. Hayward's many tricks.

i thinh everyone is looking in the wrong direction. i think it will be zack who dies opening up a three way competition for the affection of ryan.

I really hope you're wrong "bikeral." I'm holding out hope that Zach (Thorsten) will decide he wants to work full time on AMC. Also, according to a previous post by Kathy, Zach will be back for some episodes in Oct. and Nov. Of course, he could appear as a ghost, but I'm hoping: alive.

I think it's going to be Dixie.

I am thinking it will be Jake yes I know out of left field but something is up with him and it will be mysterious. So perhaps someone taking aim at David but instead pics Jake and then later on say like in November sweeps we learn that Jake was the original target after all.

I saw a promo on ABC and it does seem that Amanda is running down the stairs in a hurry when the person drops dead.

i agree with the others. I have felt since I heard this announcement that it would be one of the children. My first thought would be Emma or Spike. Miranda or Gabrielle would also be good. Although not key actors, their plot involvement is interesting nonetheless. Something has to be done to save our show!

one more thought. In SOD there was a list of upcoming plot lines and characters were listed. I tried to go through and find someone missing and I couldn't, which was one more reason I think it's one of the children.

I think it's Zack but he fakes his death and that's why you're see him in the fall. Why is Zach faking his death. Well...one he's an expert at it LOL but seriously...Zack sees that Kendall is torn between PV and the life with at sea. By faking his death ..Kendall gets to stay in PV without having to choose.. But over the next few months the truth comes out. As it always does unless your Tad.
