New Details in AMC/OLTL Pick Up

But not really.  Not anything substantial anyway.  Previously Prospect Park, who has purchased both AMC and OLTL, said they would begin airing AMC on September 26, a mere three days after AMC leaves the ABC airwaves.  But as more and more time went on, it was determined that Prospect Park has not even approached a single actor yet about continuing.  Getting a little late in the day no?  Yes.  It seems as though that September 26 goal will not be met.

In other news,  ABC Soaps in Depth reports that Prospect has reached out to AMC Executive Producer, Julie Hanan Carruthers and Head Writer Lorraine Broderick and have lined up deals with both of them.

as long as they don't reach out too far to Pratt.....

So not having signed all the actors in the past two weeks means they won't be able to sign them in the next six weeks? There's a faulty kind of logic operating there.

In my opinion, they're doing things right. The most important thing is to sign a good head writer, and that's what they've done. Without good stories, the actors don't matter (as we've seen with AMC all these many years). Now they've got the head writer situated, they have a much better chance of getting good actors to sign on.

Sonja, if they want these actors on board, they should have at least been approached by now. People do make plans and if Prospect Park isn't reaching out, should the actors just wait around until they do?

I hear you Kathy, but what caliber of actor is going to sign onto a show without knowing who is running the show or writing it? I agree that TPTB need to get working on it now (and hopefully they are), but the reality is that many MANY of these actors were probably going to be out of work for a while (so many actors, so few jobs), so I'm not sure they need to be too terribly worried that all the actors will be snatched up super fast.

And I heard they'd been talking to Susan Lucci - no deal (yet?), but talking.

So they are beginning to talk to the actors. I'd guess that a lot of them are probably keeping quiet until they decide what they want to do.
