Melissa Claire Egan Joins Y & R!!

Seriously, they need to rename that show!  Yet another AMC alum is heading over to Young and the Restless.  Entertainment Weekly reports that Melissa Claire Egan (ex-Annie) will be joining the cast in the contract role of Chelsea beginning on November 11.   She will be connected to Billy (played by Billy Miller, who played Annie's psycho brother Richie!) arrest.  Y&R also snagged AMC's award winning Casting Director, Judy Blye Wilson.

The Stars Are Out For the Start of Emmy Weekend!

Some AMC stars and nominees were out last night at the 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards nominees cocktail reception held at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.  Check out Denise Vasi (Randi), Chrishell Stause (Amanda), Trent Garrett (Asher), Brittany Allen (ex-Marissa - nominee), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie - nominee) and Stephanie Gatschet (Madison).  The Daytime Emmys will be held this Sunday, June 19 in Las Vegas and televised on CBS beginning at 8:00 pm EST.  

CASTING NEWS: Fasten Your Seatbelts!!!

The nutjob parade is coming to Pine Valley!   TV GUIDE reports that beginning the week of July 25, Melissa Claire Egan (Annie), Kate Collins (Janet) and Jennifer Bassey (Marian) will be making their return to All My Children.  The storyline has the three women who are being held at Oak Haven (along with Dixie who is being hidden) plotting to break out and head back to the people they love.  Sound amazing to me and that makes two more of on my wish list of returns coming back!   Woo hoo!!

AMC Stars Attend Something Borrowed Premiere!

Chrishell Stause (Amanda) and Melissa Claire Egan (ex-Annie) went out to the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday, May 3 for the world premiere of Something Borrowed, starring former castmate Colin Egglesfield (ex-Josh)!

Melissa Claire Egan Final Airdate!!

As previously reported, Melissa Claire Egan is leaving the role of Annie Novak McDermott Lavery Chandler Chandler after four years.  Her final airdate has been announced as March 21.  It's pretty clear that Annie is going off the rails and will most like be occupying the room with a view next door to Janet from Another Planet.  Personally I haven't ever liked Annie all that much, but I'm totally down with seeing some Oak Haven hijinks between Tire Iron Annie and Crowbar Janet.   I hope we get some!  

CASTING NEWS: Melissa Claire Egan Opts Out!

With a front burner storyline going full on, it seems an odd time for Melissa Claire Egan (Annie) to leave the show.  But leaving she is.   Posted today on her Facebook page, Melissa had this to say:

My dear fans,

After 4 and a half incredible years as a member of the All My Children cast, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave the Pine Valley family that I have come to love and respect so much.

It has been an amazing 4 and a half years for me! I have had the privilege and honor of working with the most talented and fun cast, crew, producers and directors imaginable. I have learned so much from them and am forever indebted. To wake up each morning and love going to work is a true blessing for which I am unbelievably grateful!

But after much soul-searching, I feel that it is time to spread my wings and open myself up to new challenges and adventures.

And you, my beloved fans……Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate your support and encouragement over these past four plus years. You have inspired me to give my all to the “complicated” character of Annie Novak McDermott Lavery Chandler Chandler (hehehe, it's always fun to say that ;-)), and I hope to have lived up to your expectations. You will always hold a special place in my heart, and I hope you will wish me well in my future endeavors!

Melissa Claire Egan Guests on Criminal Minds

Melissa Claire Egan (Annie) guest stars on the CBS hit drama, Criminal Minds on Wednesday, November 3.  She plays the role of Tara, an exotic dancer.  In the story, three exotic dancers have been murdered after finishing up a night at work.  Melissa's character works with one of the murdered women.  Criminal Minds airs at 9 pm EST.

Happy Belated Birthday to Melissa Claire Egan!!!   AMC's crazy (and oh yes, she's still nutty as a they come!) Annie celebrated her 29th birthday on September 28!!!  Sorry Melissa!   I guess I was asleep at the switch this week.

No Wins for AMC, But They Look Great!!!

AMC may not have won any Emmys tonight but Diva Blackwell has a few things to say about our stars knowing how to dress for the occasion! The color of the night was definitely silver and gold and many of our ladies shined. (remember you can click on any picture to enlarge it)







The stunning Bobbie Eakes (Krystal), nominated tonight for Outstanding Lead Actress, wore a beautiful silver gown and you can see just a hint of a red shoe. She looks amazing!










Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) a presenter tonight, also in silver, shined! Her ensemble was a bit more casual, but the up do and the awesome shoes completed a great look.










Chrishell Stause (Amanda) was interviewed backstage about working on a soap. This girl can wear a burlap sack and look gorgeous but this dress is no burlap sack! Is it two shades of gold or both silver and gold? I can't tell in the pics. Her hair is fantastic too!








Not to be outdone and pulling in not just color but a pattern too, Denise Vasi (Randi) is always a stunner.


And check out those kickin shoes!




















No Emmy night would be complete without Susan Lucci (Erica)!! I'm a sucker for a black gown and tonight, Susan's did not disappoint! Love the bodice, love the mermaid bottom. Love her hair! Love her head to toe.










Jamie Luner (Liza) also opted for black (much like Liza lol). The look is simple but elegant.














Melissa Claire Egan (Annie) looked like a Grecian goddess in this pale yellow gown. Her hair, from what I could make out in the pic, looks stunning!











And even though she was on the road with Walt's tux, Stephanie Gatschet (Madison) certainly did not forget to pack her own dress. What a knock out!!! I love the broach on the bodice, I love the color with the black at the bottom.

Daytime Emmy Presenters Announced!!!

As previously reported, the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, August 30 and air on the CW network at 8:00 pm. A pre-Emmy show will air from 7:00 - 8:00 pm, also on the CW and will be hosted by The Insider's Lara Spencer and Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier.
