Gone But Not Forgotten: The Boathouse

It seems that one of the most used sets on AMC didn't make it to LA with the rest of them and with the cast.  The Boathouse on Adam Chandler's property.  Everyone went there to cry, to mourn, to laugh, to celebrate, to marry, to hide.   It was a one stop mecca for all things.  And now, sadly, it's disappeared.  Where has it gone!   Is Pine Valley, PA no longer on the ocean and therefore, the idea of a boathouse unnecessary?   No that's not it, Pine Valley still has the Yacht Club for all your oceanic voyage needs.  Alas, the park has taken the place of the all but forgotten Boathouse.  Well I didn't forget you Boathouse!   I remember Greenlee and Leo getting married there.   I remember Bianca and telling Leo she's gay at the Boathouse.  I remember Brooke spying on Adam and Dixie at the Boathouse.  I remember Aidan finding Lily at the Boathouse.  Oh so many Boathouse memories.   Where have you gone old friend!?

So often when the magazines publish a photo of Bianca and Maggie, it's them eating cotton candy at the Boathouse. I always hated that photo, so many other they could use. I can't even remember where that cotton candy came from.. nor how it stayed so fluffy so long!

(Sorry for the seeming cotton candy obsession, but I do admit I love it!)

Until you mentioned it, I had not realized we'd not seen the Boathouse since the move. Have we been to the beach yet??

SO true! Everything went down at the boathouse. What a bummer.

I also remember Bianca and Maggie at the boathouse - but not the cotton candy thing. I remember them jumping in the water or something? And wasn't the boathouse part of the scene of the "kidnapping" of Amanda and Jake's (then believed to be David's) son? Maybe fake Greenlee kidnapped Spike there too? Am I making this all up or were a lot of kids kidnapped at the boathouse?

Well, I still find the Pine Valley "ocean" to be ridiculous. I remain confused as to how they came up with this stupid idea and why no one had access to a map of Pennsylvania. So if getting rid of the boathouse means we give up on the "ocean," I'm all for it. (I'm willing to believe the Yacht Club is situated on a river or lake.)

But speaking of sets, have you noticed that the characters spend a lot more time outside now?

Don't forget ice skating and falling through the ice!!

Speaking of other (new) locations, that damn garden is too full of colorful flowers for Pennsylvania...it looks phony (i.e., California-ish).

And David? He's dead...for the moment. You never know.

Lets not forget the Goal Post, The Steam Pit, Glamour Rama, Serving Spoon, The Horse Stables at Wildwind. What else??

And, The Pine Valley Inn. Now it's either Krystal's or The Yatch Club. Maybe when Jack and Erica get back, they'll add that location. Can't have Thanksgiving dinner without "The Inn."

I've noticed for awhile that the Boathouse and the Valley Inn are MIA! I think the Yacht Club and the Four Seasons Casino have replaced the Valley Inn, which is sad...I remember all the great parties and get-togethers at that place. If you look at the casino set, it's pretty much the Valley Inn bar, only with hideous wallpaper!

Remember the Boarding House & Myrtle's?

You picked the best boathouse scene ever. Old style soap with 3 of #AMC's best. I'm ready for another return by Julia Barr. She should return whenever Lucci's on vacation.
